Photography Experience at Eden Digital

There are three parts to an Eden Digital portrait experience, a planning session, a photo session, and a viewing & ordering session:

Planning

What's a planning session for?

You'll also be able to meet us see our work, ask any questions you have about prices & packages available.
We'll we need to know a few things about the session, for example, why do you want your pictures taken, is there a special occasion a birthday or anniversary perhaps? How many people will there be and what's everyone's relationship to one another?
We'll discuss where to take your photos, in the studio or somewhere in the outside world, perhaps you'd like them at your home?
We'll get a feel for the kind of picture you want to achieve, may it be formal or casual, bright or moody. If you're looking for a fantasy portrait we'll look at costume, set design, colour – do you want to match the colour scheme to your living room? We'll give you ideas that you might not of thought possible. There's plenty of reasons to call over for a coffee to plan your session – the main one is you'll get better more tailored photos! - Another is we have really good coffee ;-)

The Session

What should we expect at the session?

For sessions taking place at our studio, we normally begin by hanging out for a few minutes with the yourselves & the kids to get to know each other over a coffee or soft drink. Once we're all relaxed, we can start with a few in-studio images, if children are involved in the shoot we let them dictate the pace, and allow them to come out of their shells naturally. Depending on who's in front of the camera, what you're looking for & the weather we may venture outside to some favourite spots close by.

On location or sessions at your home we would begin by taking a look around to find a few suitable locations, then hopefully you'll make us a coffee so we can discuss what we've found.

When photographing newborns, a sleepy baby is best. The younger the baby the better, as they grow so quickly! We always plan lots of time for newborns so there are breaks for feeding & changing etc...

Toddlers & young children are always captured much better when they're happy, so scheduling for the right time of day to suit your child is very important, our morning sessions are mid to late morning perfect for after nap time – but please talk to us and tell us your child's schedule. Also make sure your little one has been well fed and please bring some non messy snacks along as well as some favourite toys.

When photographing families, we will normally run through the must have groups we've discussed with you at your planning appointment, we'll try to do these relatively quickly while we have the kids full attention, then we can focus on smaller groups and individual images.

Lastly we'll schedule a convenient time for you to come back to view your images.

Viewing

When DO we get to see our pictures?

About a week later you'll return to the studio to view your pictures. They'll be presented on a big screen as a slide show, where you'll initially sit back relax and enjoy the show.
Now the hard part is choosing what you want – most people love all our work! But don't panic there's no high pressure sales here, it's simply Lynne your photographer who you know, sat with you giving you any advice you might want on which images to choose and how best to display them.

You'll probably already have an idea of what you want beforehand so it'll be a question of choosing the right image for you.

We know you're excited about your images! But creating great images takes time and shouldn't be rushed, we check each image to make sure it's perfect, before it reaches your home.

We therefore ask you allow 1-3 weeks for prints & canvas orders and 4-6 weeks for album & frame orders, if a rush order is needed, you must let us know *before* placing the order, so we can try to accommodate you.

In Studio

In order for us to provide a first class service, we require time each week to personally produce the beautiful prints & albums you see at the studio, two days each week are reserved for this 'behind the scenes' work which means the shoots times are normally restricted to Wednesdays through to Saturdays.

Sessions & Services

All Photo Shoot Sessions are inclusive for up to 6 persons. If your party is larger than this figure, please call us to discuss your options.

A planning appointment is always available, this can be carried out over the phone for your convenience if preferred, this is to discuss your ideas, advise you on set & location options, as well as what to wear and how to personalise the shoot further.

A viewing & ordering appointment scheduled about a week or two later where you will normally see between 35-60 images.

Viewing & Ordering

If you've had a family session with multiple family units making up the group, we ask that any of the families wishing to purchase images come to the viewing & order session – we can accommodate multiple sessions but a charge of £45 will apply for each additional appointment.
If family members are spread out geographically, and a joint viewing is not possible, we can launch a complimentary 14 day Internet gallery for them after an initial viewing has been done.

If you just fancy an on-line viewing gallery this can also be made available after your viewing if you require extra time with your images for a small admin fee of £45.

The additional viewing appointment /Internet gallery fee includes a £45 credit that is valid for 7 days towards any order for the current session images.

Prints & Things

We're very flexible with what you can order afterwards, you can pick individual items from our menu or if you prefer choose one of our collection bundles. Our complete range and package options can be viewed and discussed at your planning session.

To give you an idea; our individual prints range from £35 (see table) up to high hundreds for large wall portraits.

All individual prints are art mounted ready for framing, normal ordering times for all print & canvas are 1-3 weeks.
Album & frame orders may take longer than 5 weeks depending on specific product.
Rush orders may be possible please ask before ordering and they may be subjected to a rush fee.
